Are Omens Lucky on the Right or Left — What the Texts and Tradition Say
Per Muhurta Martanda, good omens on the right and bad ones on the left favour a journey; 'feminine' birds are lucky on the left, 'masculine' on the right.
Muhurta Chintamani also lists cuckoo and lizard as lucky on the left, monkeys on the right.
Animals and birds circling clockwise are considered lucky.
Brihat Samhita's general rule reverses omens for women; no separate rule is given for this one.
