VedicDost (वैदिक दोस्त) is a Hindi-first Vedic astrology website run from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Our aim is simple: accurate calculations, plain language, and honest guidance — without fear or selling.
Why We Built It
Most astrology sites are either hard to understand or scare you first and then sell gemstones and pujas. We wanted one place where anyone in the family can understand their own kundli — what Sade Sati really means, what happens in a Mercury antardasha — and ask questions without paying someone per minute.
How We Check Our Calculations
- System: Vedic (Parashari), Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign houses, mean Rahu–Ketu, Vimshottari dasha. Planetary positions come from the Astronomy Engine library.
- Kundli matching: the 36-guna tables were compared with a popular panchang software on 92 couples — all 92 matched. This test re-runs automatically on every code change.
- Panchang: tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana end times, Rahu Kaal, Choghadiya and Dur Muhurat matched within 1–2 minutes for 5 cities.
- Varshphal: varsha lagna, Muntha and Mudda dasha checked on 5 charts.
- Festivals: computed with udaya tithi, pradosh and nishita rules; local tradition may differ by a day, and we say so.
