Mole on Body — What Samudrika Shastra Says
Per Brihat Samhita (ch. 52), a mole, wart or mark is read by the body part it sits on — each part from head to toe has its own result.
The Samhita says the effects given for eruptions also apply to moles, warts, scars and hair whorls.
A smooth, clear, well-formed mole is considered more auspicious.
Brihat Samhita (52.9) says marks on a man's right side and a woman's left side are more auspicious; on the opposite side the effect is milder.

Frequently asked questions
Is this rule different for men and women?
Brihat Samhita (52.9) says marks on a man's right side and a woman's left side are more auspicious; on the opposite side the effect is milder.
Can the effect of a mole change?
Yes — Samudrika Shastra says good conduct outweighs every bodily mark; a person of good character is considered fortunate even with few good marks.
Should an 'unlucky' mole be removed?
There is no need to remove a mole for astrological reasons. If it changes in size, colour or border, bleeds or itches, see a dermatologist.
