What Is a Prashna Kundli and How It Works

Prashna kundli (horary chart) is the chart of the moment a question is asked, not of the moment of birth. Tradition holds that a question has its own birth, and the sky at that moment tells its story, so no birth date or birth time is needed, only the question, the time of asking and the place where you are. Texts such as Prashna Marga and Prashna Tantra deal with this subject, and the Tajika Neelakanthi has a full prashna section.
The method: take the rising sign at the moment of the question (prashna lagna) and its lord as the questioner; choose the house of the matter asked about (10th for job, 7th for marriage, 2nd and 11th for money) and its lord as the lord of the matter; then see whether the two are linked by aspect or ithashala, the Tajika term for two planets moving toward each other. Per the prashna section of the Tajika Neelakanthi, such a link points toward the matter being accomplished, and the Moon's aspect strengthens it, while affliction by cruel planets points to obstruction. Prashna Tantra advises asking only one question at a time.
On VedicDost, open "Prashna Kundli" in the app (marked "without birth time"): write your question, choose the city you are in, and optionally enter a number from 1 to 249 that comes to mind (the KP number). The chart for that moment shows the prashna lagna, the Moon and the star-lord and sub-lord of your number. The software does the calculation; Pandit Ji (AI) only explains it in plain words. The answer is a tilt, never a date or a promise, and it is not meant for medical emergencies, legal verdicts, lottery or shares, lifespan or a child's gender.
