Seeing a Lizard on the Left While Leaving — What the Texts and Tradition Say
According to Muhurta Chintamani, seeing a 'feminine' creature such as a house lizard on your left as you set out is a good omen.
The same rule lists the cuckoo and female jackal as lucky on the left.
'Masculine' creatures such as monkeys are lucky on the right.
The text gives this rule for travellers; Brihat Samhita's general rule reverses omens for women.
